Connecting LinkedIn brings your prospect and customer direct messages into Unibox alongside email and other channels. Klipy captures DMs only—not posts, comments, or connection requests. LinkedIn connects via OAuth through Unipile, the same infrastructure used for WhatsApp and Telegram.

Before you start

  • You must have an active LinkedIn account.
  • Use the LinkedIn account you use for prospect and customer DMs—this is typically your personal LinkedIn profile.
  • LinkedIn Sales Navigator is not required; Klipy works with standard LinkedIn DMs.

Connect LinkedIn

1

Open LinkedIn settings

In the Klipy app, go to Settings → Channels → LinkedIn.
2

Authorize via Unipile

Click to connect. Klipy opens an authorization flow through Unipile. Sign in with your LinkedIn credentials and approve the requested access.
3

Wait for sync

New and recent direct messages begin appearing in Unibox within a few minutes. A backfill of approximately the last 30 days of DM history runs automatically.
LinkedIn’s rate limits mean the first sync can take a few minutes for accounts with a large DM history. You’ll see messages populate progressively.

After connecting

  • LinkedIn DMs appear in Unibox in real time as new messages arrive.
  • You can reply to messages from inside Klipy.
  • Conversations link to contact and company records where Klipy matches the LinkedIn profile.
To see how LinkedIn messages are captured and what intelligence is extracted, see What Klipy captures.

Disconnect LinkedIn

Go to Settings → Channels → LinkedIn and click Disconnect. You can also revoke access from your LinkedIn account’s Data privacy settings.

Frequently asked questions

No. Klipy captures direct messages (DMs) only. Public posts, comments, likes, and connection requests are not processed.
Klipy connects to your LinkedIn DMs, which are accessible whether you have a free account or Sales Navigator. Sales Navigator’s InMail messages that arrive in your LinkedIn DMs will also be captured. Klipy does not integrate with Sales Navigator’s search, lead lists, or CRM sync features.
Klipy is a full CRM that happens to connect LinkedIn as one of its input channels. Unlike LinkedIn’s native tools (like Sales Navigator’s built-in notes), Klipy tracks LinkedIn conversations alongside email, WhatsApp, and meetings in a single pipeline view—so you have the full deal context regardless of which channel a conversation happens on.
Kondo is a LinkedIn DM organizer focused on inbox management. Klipy is a CRM that brings LinkedIn DMs into a full deal pipeline alongside email and other channels—adding AI-generated follow-up drafts, contact records, and meeting intelligence. If you’re tracking deals across multiple channels (not just LinkedIn), Klipy gives you that unified view.
Approximately the last 30 days of DM history on first connection. Older messages are not backfilled.
Yes. LinkedIn is an optional channel. Klipy works with email only, and you can add LinkedIn, WhatsApp, or Telegram at any time from settings.
LinkedIn’s API has restrictions. Klipy uses Unipile’s integration, which operates within LinkedIn’s terms. Connecting works for personal LinkedIn accounts. If you encounter issues, they are typically account-level restrictions rather than Klipy-specific problems.
Yes. Each Klipy user connects their own LinkedIn account independently—your DMs are not visible to teammates unless they’re working the same contact record.
Connection request messages (the note sent with a connection request) are not typically captured—only messages in the DM thread after connection.
No. Klipy reads your DMs for the purposes of syncing to Unibox. It does not post, like, connect, or take any visible action on LinkedIn on your behalf.
