Klipy reads your emails and meeting transcripts to build relationship context and generate suggestions. Here’s a clear picture of how that works and what protections are in place.

What Klipy reads

When you connect your email or calendar, Klipy accesses:
  • Emails — sent and received threads, used to map relationships, surface open threads, and draft follow-ups
  • Calendar events — to route the meeting notetaker and understand your schedule
  • Meeting recordings — audio processed into transcripts for summaries and action items
  • LinkedIn and other connected channels — messages and interactions from channels you explicitly connect
Klipy reads this data to do its job. It doesn’t read data from accounts you haven’t connected.

How AI models are used

Klipy uses third-party AI models (such as Google Gemini) to generate drafts, summaries, and suggestions.
Your data is not used to train AI models. Klipy calls these providers through API access, not consumer products — under standard API terms, the provider does not retain data for model training. This differs from consumer AI products (like ChatGPT.com or Gemini.google.com), where user data may be used differently. Klipy also uses dedicated cloud instances for these calls, adding a layer of separation from shared consumer infrastructure.

What Klipy does not do

  • Klipy never sends emails without your explicit approval. Every draft sits in your approval queue until you accept it.
  • Klipy does not share your data with other Klipy customers or use your data to improve suggestions for other workspaces.
  • Klipy does not sell your data to third parties.

Data storage and retention

Your data is stored in Klipy’s cloud infrastructure. Contact and conversation data is retained for as long as your account is active. For details on data deletion upon account closure, refer to Klipy’s privacy policy.

Compliance and certifications

Klipy holds the following current attestations: Klipy does not hold ISO 27001 or HIPAA certification today. For security questionnaires or compliance documentation requests, contact Klipy support directly.
