What Klipy reads
When you connect your email or calendar, Klipy accesses:- Emails — sent and received threads, used to map relationships, surface open threads, and draft follow-ups
- Calendar events — to route the meeting notetaker and understand your schedule
- Meeting recordings — audio processed into transcripts for summaries and action items
- LinkedIn and other connected channels — messages and interactions from channels you explicitly connect
How AI models are used
Klipy uses third-party AI models (such as Google Gemini) to generate drafts, summaries, and suggestions. Here’s how data is handled when it passes through those models: Your data is not used to train AI models. When Klipy calls an AI provider via API — particularly through cloud API deployments — the provider’s terms of service stipulate that API data is not used for model training. This is different from using consumer AI products (like ChatGPT or Gemini on the web), where user data may be used differently. Klipy uses dedicated cloud instances for AI model calls, adding an additional layer of separation from shared consumer infrastructure.AI training using consumer products (e.g. ChatGPT.com, Gemini.google.com) operates under different terms than the API access that Klipy uses. Klipy’s AI calls go through API endpoints where data is not retained for training purposes under the providers’ standard API policies.
What Klipy does not do
- Klipy never sends emails without your explicit approval. Every draft sits in your approval queue until you accept it.
- Klipy does not share your data with other Klipy customers or use your data to improve suggestions for other workspaces.
- Klipy does not sell your data to third parties.
Data storage and retention
