Klipy enriches a company by querying Clearbit, then People Data Labs, then Apollo, then a web search, stopping at the first provider with usable data. If every provider fails, Klipy stops there silently, with no error, no retry, and no sign an attempt was made. Every field enrichment would have filled in is directly editable.

What you’ll see

  • A company record stays blank in several fields — industry, size, revenue, logo, and social links — even after Klipy has tried to enrich it.
  • There’s no error message anywhere on the company page, and nothing tells you an enrichment attempt was made and came up empty.
  • The record otherwise looks normal: fields you or a teammate entered manually show up as usual, and only the fields enrichment was supposed to fill in stay empty.
  • This can happen for any company, regardless of how well-known the business is or how much public data exists about it elsewhere — the gap this article covers if you’ve seen other companies come back with a full profile and this one stayed blank.

Why it happens

Klipy enriches a company record by querying external data providers for the company’s domain, in order, stopping at the first one that returns usable data:
  1. Clearbit
  2. People Data Labs
  3. Apollo
  4. Web search (fallback)
If every provider fails or simply has nothing on file for the domain, Klipy stops there: nothing retries on its own, and nothing is written back to the company record to flag that an attempt happened and came up empty. This is most likely with newer or smaller companies, unusual domains, or domains that don’t match how a provider indexes the business (for example, a company operating under a different name than its domain suggests). It isn’t tied to your account or your plan; the same domain would come back empty for any Klipy user.

What to do now

1

Open the company record

Go to the company record in Klipy showing the blank fields.
2

Fill in the fields yourself

Every field enrichment would have populated — industry, size, revenue, location, and social links — is directly editable on the company record. Enter what you know directly on the record.

Don't wait for a retry

Klipy doesn’t automatically retry enrichment for a domain that previously came up empty, so editing the fields yourself is the fastest way to complete the record. There’s no “re-enrich” button to trigger another attempt.

When to contact us

Contact us if a domain you know has public company data — a real company website with a listed industry, size, or other public profile information — that consistently comes back empty after Klipy’s enrichment. That’s worth reporting so we can look at why that specific domain isn’t matching.
No. There’s no automatic retry and no re-enrich button. If a company’s enrichment comes back empty, it stays empty until you fill in the fields yourself.
Klipy queries Clearbit, then People Data Labs, then Apollo, then a web-search fallback, in that order, stopping at the first one that returns usable data for the company’s domain.
No. The company record doesn’t visually distinguish enrichment-filled fields from manually entered ones. Both are stored and edited the same way.
Yes. Contact enrichment fields are optional in the same way: if an integration returns no data for a person, the field is left blank with no error, and every field is directly editable.
