Email connections occasionally drop — typically when an OAuth token expires, your password changes, or your IT department revokes app permissions. When this happens, Klipy stops receiving new emails and will notify you that your connection needs attention.

How to reconnect

The reconnection flow is identical to the original connection: a standard OAuth pop-up that re-authorizes Klipy’s access.
1

Go to Settings → Integrations

Open Settings in the top-right corner of Klipy, then navigate to Integrations (or Connected channels).
2

Find your disconnected email

Your Gmail or Outlook account will appear with a warning indicator — typically a red or orange status badge showing the connection is inactive.
3

Click Reconnect

Click the Reconnect button next to your email account. This opens the same OAuth pop-up you used when you first connected.
4

Authorize access

Select your account in the pop-up and approve access. The connection re-establishes immediately and Klipy resumes syncing.
You don’t lose any existing data when you reconnect. Klipy will pick up new emails from the point the connection was restored.

Common reasons email disconnects

Google and Microsoft issue access tokens that expire periodically. When they do, the connection needs to be re-authorized. This is normal and expected — it’s a security feature of OAuth.
Changing your email password, enabling two-factor authentication, or updating security settings often invalidates existing OAuth tokens.
If your organization uses Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 with admin-managed permissions, your IT administrator may have removed Klipy’s authorization. Contact your IT team to re-approve the OAuth app before reconnecting.
Some organizations limit the number of third-party apps that can have OAuth access. If reconnecting fails repeatedly, check with your IT administrator.

Still not working?

If the connection drops again immediately after reconnecting, or if you receive an error during the OAuth flow, contact support with:
  • Your email provider (Gmail or Outlook)
  • The error message you see, if any
  • Whether your organization uses Google Workspace or Microsoft 365
