Use this guide when you need to wire up a specific channel. Klipy only processes conversations from sources you connect—start with email for core capture, then add calendar-backed meetings and messaging where you actually talk to customers.

Email

Email unlocks thread history, contacts, and most follow-up drafts. Klipy uses OAuth—you sign in with Google or Microsoft; Klipy never asks for your password.

Gmail

1

Open Email settings

In the Klipy app, go to Settings → Channels → Email.
2

Connect Gmail

Click Connect (or Connect Gmail) and choose the Google account you use for work.Complete Google’s consent screen. Klipy requests access to read your mail and to send mail only when you approve a draft—nothing sends automatically.
3

Confirm access

After authorization succeeds, Gmail stays linked until you disconnect it. Historical import begins automatically (see Importing data).

Outlook / Microsoft 365

1

Open Email settings

Go to Settings → Channels → Email.
2

Connect Outlook

Click Connect (or Connect Outlook) and sign in with your Microsoft work or personal account. Approve the permissions Microsoft shows for Klipy.
3

Confirm access

When the connection completes, Outlook mail stays linked until you disconnect. Import of recent history starts in the background (Importing data).
Organizational Microsoft accounts often require an administrator to allow third-party OAuth apps. If sign-in fails or your tenant blocks the app, contact IT to approve Klipy before retrying.

Calendar

Calendar access rides along with your email provider: Gmail includes Google Calendar, and Outlook includes Outlook Calendar. You do not run a separate “calendar only” flow if email is already connected.
If Gmail or Outlook is connected, your upcoming meetings are visible in Klipy and the notetaker can be scheduled from those events—no extra calendar connection step.

Google Calendar (with Gmail)

1

Connect Gmail first

Follow the Gmail steps above. The same OAuth grants access to Google Calendar tied to that account.
2

Verify meetings appear

Open Calendar in Klipy and confirm upcoming events show. Events with Google Meet links can be used for notetaker scheduling.

Outlook Calendar (with Outlook mail)

1

Connect Outlook first

Follow the Outlook steps above. The same authorization covers Outlook Calendar for that Microsoft account.
2

Verify meetings appear

Check Calendar in Klipy for upcoming items. Events with Microsoft Teams links can be covered when Outlook is connected—no Teams-specific OAuth in Klipy for this path.

Meetings (notetaker)

Meeting capture depends on calendar visibility and, for Zoom, an explicit Meetings connection.

Google Meet

1

Ensure Gmail + calendar are connected

Complete Gmail so Google Calendar is available (Calendar).
2

Schedule from calendar events

When an event includes a Google Meet link, Klipy can auto-join according to your notetaker preferences. Future recordings and notes flow into your workspace after the call.

Zoom

Zoom OAuth may be restricted by your company. If authorization fails or the app is blocked, ask IT to allow Klipy’s Zoom integration (or approve the app in Zoom’s admin settings) before trying again.
1

Open Meetings settings

Go to Settings → Channels → Meetings.
2

Connect Zoom

Start the Zoom connection and sign in when prompted. Approve access so Klipy can join and record meetings you configure for notetaker.
3

Confirm future calls

After connecting, future meetings you set up for capture will produce recordings and summaries according to your rules.

Microsoft Teams

1

Connect Outlook

Complete Outlook / Microsoft 365 email so Outlook Calendar and Teams meeting links on your events are visible (Email).
2

Use Teams links on events

When a calendar event includes a Microsoft Teams meeting, Klipy can join that call without a separate Teams connector—provided the event is on the connected account.
As with Outlook mail, tenant policies can block joining or recording. If something fails at join time, work with IT to confirm third-party meeting bots or recording policies for your org.

Social and messaging

These channels use Unipile. Messages show in Unibox alongside email; Klipy focuses on conversations, not public posts.

LinkedIn

1

Open LinkedIn settings

Go to Settings → Channels → LinkedIn.
2

Start OAuth

Click to connect and complete Unipile’s LinkedIn authorization in the browser. Use the LinkedIn account you use for prospect and customer DMs.
3

Wait for sync

New and recent direct messages begin appearing in Unibox. A full backfill can take a few minutes.

WhatsApp

1

Open WhatsApp settings

Go to Settings → Channels → WhatsApp.
2

Scan the QR code

Klipy shows a QR code. On your phone, open WhatsApp → Linked devicesLink a device, then scan the code shown in Klipy.
3

Keep the session active

Leave the linked session in place while you use Klipy. Messages sync into Unibox; history may take a few minutes to appear.

Telegram

1

Open Telegram settings

Go to Settings → Channels → Telegram.
2

Sign in with your phone number

Follow the prompts to verify Telegram through Unipile (phone number authentication as shown in the UI).
3

Confirm messages in Unibox

Conversations should appear in Unibox shortly; allow a few minutes for full sync.

After connecting

What happens next depends on the channel:
  • Email: Historical import runs automatically—timeline and scope are described in Importing data.
  • Calendar: Upcoming meetings show in Klipy and the notetaker can run on events you enable.
  • Zoom / meetings: New recordings and notes apply to future calls you configure for capture.
  • LinkedIn, WhatsApp, Telegram: Threads land in Unibox; give sync a few minutes after first connect.
To see what Klipy captures from each source and how it becomes suggestions and drafts, read What Klipy captures. For messaging-specific workflow (Unibox, replies, approvals), see Unibox. If you have not completed onboarding, Quickstart ties these pieces together end to end.
