# How does the referral programme work?

> Referring a friend gets you 200 tokens and gets them 15% off for 6 months, inside a 90-day window. Here's where to find your code and how it redeems.

Klipy's referral programme rewards both sides of an invite. When a friend signs up with your code and upgrades to a paid plan within 90 days, you get **200 tokens** and they get **15% off their first six months**. Find your code on the Referrals page in Klipy's sidebar, and share it directly or through LinkedIn, X, or WhatsApp.

## Where to find and share your code

Klipy shows a **Referrals** item in the sidebar, marked with a gift icon, once the referral programme is turned on for your workspace. Clicking it opens your referral page, and if you don't already have a code, Klipy generates one for you the first time you visit — there's nothing to set up first.

* **Code format** — every code starts with a `KLIPY-` prefix and runs 3 to 20 characters long in total.
* **Sharing** — your code appears in a share card with ready-made buttons for LinkedIn, X, and WhatsApp, plus a plain copy button for pasting into an email or message yourself.
* **Customizing your code** — swap the auto-generated text for your own (for example, your name or business). Klipy limits this to **3 changes per calendar month**.
* **Direct invites** — sending invite emails through Klipy is capped at **20 in any rolling 24-hour period**. Sharing your link elsewhere isn't limited the same way.

Your referral page also keeps a running table of everyone who has used your code, showing where each invite stands — still pending, ready to reward, or already paid out.

## What you and your friend each get

The two sides of a referral get different rewards, and both only apply once your friend upgrades to a paid plan.

Your referral page shows each reward moving through its lifecycle — pending while you wait, redeemable once your friend upgrades, and redeemed once the tokens land in your account. If Klipy flags an invite as fraudulent, that reward is voided instead.

## How redemption works

Redemption runs on its own once a friend uses your code — you don't need to file a claim or remind anyone. The steps below walk through the whole path, from sharing your link to seeing your tokens land.

    They create a Klipy account using your link, or by entering your code during signup. Klipy records the referral against their account at this point, which is also when their 90-day window starts.

  <Step title="Your friend upgrades to a paid plan">
    The 15% discount for 6 months applies at checkout, with no separate coupon code to enter. This has to happen within 90 days of them first using your code, or the referral no longer qualifies for either side.

    Once their upgrade goes through, your 200 tokens move from pending to redeemable and then redeemed. Check your Referrals page invitation table any time to see the status of every invite you've sent, including ones still waiting on an upgrade.

## Affiliate and revenue-share programs

The referral programme described above is open to anyone: sign up for Klipy for free today and you'll have your own code to share, no separate application needed. A formal affiliate or revenue-share program — for partners who want to promote Klipy at scale — is a separate arrangement from this referral programme. If that's what you're looking for, reach out through the **Get help** option in Klipy's Help menu to explore it with the team.

## When to contact us

If your friend signed up and upgraded to paid within 90 days but your tokens haven't moved to redeemed, or your friend's discount didn't apply at checkout, reach out through the **Get help** option in Klipy's Help menu. Include your referral code and roughly when your friend signed up so the team can check the status of that specific invite.
