# What is my Klipy home screen?

> Klipy's home screen is a live briefing: Hey Klipy, Next up, Needs review, Rest of day, and Meeting brief, loading as your data becomes ready.

Klipy's home screen is a live daily briefing, built from five areas — Hey Klipy, Next up, Needs review, Rest of day, and Meeting brief — that each appear as your data becomes ready. While Klipy is still pulling things together, a skeleton preview shows where each area will land, so the page never looks stuck or blank.

## What each area does

### Hey Klipy

A single input bar near the top of the page where you can ask Klipy anything — "help me draft a check-in email," "review my pipeline," or "find contacts I should check back in with." Clicking it opens Klipy's full assistant so you can ask your question and get an answer sourced from your own data.

### Next up

A card listing what's left on your calendar for the rest of today — the meetings you haven't gotten to yet, grouped together when they run back-to-back. This only shows if you've connected a calendar; see [Connecting email and calendar](/docs/guides/connecting-email-calendar) if you haven't yet.

### Needs review

A card of things Klipy has drafted or found that are waiting on you — suggestions, draft replies, and similar items pulled from your connected channels. If there's nothing waiting, the card tells you plainly that you're caught up rather than showing an empty box.

### Rest of day

A short rundown of what's still ahead of you today, once your calendar and other commitments are accounted for.

### Meeting brief

Prep for a meeting that's starting soon or already underway — attendees, deal history, and talking points pulled from what Klipy already knows about the people on the call. This only appears when you have a meeting happening now or within about 30 minutes; otherwise the slot doesn't show at all. Klipy can also send this same kind of prep by email ahead of external meetings — see [How delegations work](/docs/guides/plan-and-execute) for the "Prep before meetings" delegation that sends it.

## While things load

The first time you open the home screen, or while Klipy is still gathering your data, you'll see one of a few states instead of the finished briefing:

* **Loading skeleton** — plain card-shaped outlines (a title bar over two body bars) stand in for each area while Klipy fetches your briefing. Nothing is broken; the real cards swap in as data arrives.
* **No inbox connected yet** — if you haven't connected an email account, the whole briefing area is replaced with a single message: "It's quiet in here — connect your inbox and calendar and I'll surface the deals, drafts and to-dos hiding in them," with a button to connect both in one step. See [Connecting email and calendar](/docs/guides/connecting-email-calendar).
* **Reading your inbox** — if you've connected an inbox and Klipy is still working through its first scan of your mail, the Needs review area shows "Reading your inbox… this can take a few minutes for large mailboxes" instead of suggestions, while the rest of the page (Next up, Meeting brief, Rest of day) still shows your real calendar data.

## When to contact us

If your home screen stays on the loading skeleton for more than a few minutes, or Needs review keeps showing "Reading your inbox…" long after you'd expect your first scan to finish, reach out through the **Get help** option in Klipy's Help menu. Mention roughly when you connected your inbox so the team can check what your import job actually did.

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Why does my home screen show different areas on different days?">
    Next up, Meeting brief, and Needs review only appear when there's something to show — a meeting today, a meeting starting soon, or something waiting for your review. An empty day with nothing to review looks different from a busy one by design.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why is my home screen just a message telling me to connect my inbox?">
    Klipy needs an inbox and calendar connection before it has anything to brief you on. Connecting both takes one step — see [Connecting email and calendar](/docs/guides/connecting-email-calendar) — and your home screen fills in from there.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why does Needs review say Reading your inbox instead of showing suggestions?">
    Klipy is still working through its first scan of your connected mailbox. This can take a few minutes for larger inboxes. The rest of your home screen — Next up, Meeting brief, Rest of day — still works normally while that finishes.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Is the Meeting brief on my home screen the same as an emailed meeting brief?">
    It's the same kind of prep — attendees, deal history, talking points — shown in the app for a meeting happening now or soon. Klipy can also email that same kind of brief ahead of external meetings if you turn on the "Prep before meetings" delegation.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I ask Klipy questions from the home screen?">
    Yes — the Hey Klipy bar at the top of the home screen opens Klipy's assistant for any question about your deals, contacts, or pipeline.
