# How do the daily and pre-meeting briefs work?

> Klipy's daily brief sends by email and in-app on your schedule (8am weekdays default). The pre-meeting brief fires ~30 min before external meetings.

Klipy sends two kinds of brief. The daily brief arrives by email (and in-app) on a cron schedule at the time you set — 8am, Monday to Friday, by default — once you turn it on at [app.klipy.ai/delegation/daily-brief](https://app.klipy.ai/delegation/daily-brief). The pre-meeting brief fires automatically about 30 minutes before external meetings, once enabled at [app.klipy.ai/delegation/meeting-brief](https://app.klipy.ai/delegation/meeting-brief).

## Where do I turn on the daily brief?

Klipy's daily brief is a delegation, not a general settings toggle, and it's off by default. You turn it on and manage it at [app.klipy.ai/delegation/daily-brief](https://app.klipy.ai/delegation/daily-brief), alongside Klipy's other built-in delegations.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the daily brief delegation">
    Go to [app.klipy.ai/delegation/daily-brief](https://app.klipy.ai/delegation/daily-brief).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Turn it on">
    Enable the daily brief delegation. It's off by default, so Klipy sends nothing until you enable it here.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Set your days and time">
    Choose what time you want the brief to arrive. Left unchanged, it defaults to 8am on weekdays (Monday to Friday) — Klipy doesn't send it on weekends by default.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check your timezone">
    Klipy sends the daily brief based on your account timezone. If your set time and your actual local morning don't line up, check your timezone under your account settings.
  </Step>
</Steps>

The daily brief needs at least one connected email account. Without one, the delegation shows as not configured on [app.klipy.ai/delegation/daily-brief](https://app.klipy.ai/delegation/daily-brief) until you connect an inbox.

You don't have to wait for the scheduled time. The "Send me one now" button on that same page sends a fresh copy of the daily brief immediately, built from your current pipeline and follow-ups at the moment you click it.

## Where do I turn on the pre-meeting brief?

Klipy's pre-meeting brief is a separate delegation from the daily brief, managed at [app.klipy.ai/delegation/meeting-brief](https://app.klipy.ai/delegation/meeting-brief). Turn it on there and pick which connected inbox account it should use.

Unlike the daily brief, there's no time to set: once enabled, Klipy fires the pre-meeting brief automatically about 30 minutes before every external meeting on your calendar. Meetings where everyone is internal to your own organization are skipped, since there's no outside relationship for Klipy to brief you on.

The pre-meeting brief needs the same kind of connection as the daily brief: a connected email account so Klipy can see your calendar and your history with the people you're meeting. Until that's connected, [app.klipy.ai/delegation/meeting-brief](https://app.klipy.ai/delegation/meeting-brief) shows the delegation as not configured.

## What's inside each brief?

Klipy's daily brief and pre-meeting brief cover different ground, because they're answering different questions — "what does my whole day look like" versus "what do I need to know for this one meeting."

The daily brief has five parts: relationships that need you now, relationships going quiet, today's calendar, a scoreboard of pipeline metrics, and a one-line summary of the day. It's a wide-angle view across everything in your pipeline, not tied to any single deal or contact.

The pre-meeting brief is narrower and arrives per meeting: who's attending from outside your organization and their history with you, the related deal's stage and value, a summary of your last conversation with them, and anything that's changed since you last spoke. It's built to be read in the few minutes before you join the call.

Both briefs are read-only digests — Klipy is telling you what it sees, not asking you to approve or send anything. Nothing goes out to anyone else because of a brief; it's for you.

## Why am I not getting a brief?

<Steps>
  <Step title="Confirm the delegation is enabled">
    Visit [app.klipy.ai/delegation/daily-brief](https://app.klipy.ai/delegation/daily-brief) or [app.klipy.ai/delegation/meeting-brief](https://app.klipy.ai/delegation/meeting-brief) and check the status. If either shows as off or not configured, turn it on and confirm you have a connected email account.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check your timezone and send time (daily brief only)">
    The daily brief sends based on the time and timezone in your settings. Double-check both if it seems to be arriving at the wrong time, or not sending at all. The pre-meeting brief has no send-time setting to check — it's always \~30 minutes before the meeting.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Remember a quiet day or meeting can mean a short brief">
    If there's nothing new in your pipeline and no follow-ups due, the daily brief can be short or effectively empty — that's expected, not a sign something's broken. Similarly, a pre-meeting brief for a contact Klipy has little history with will be shorter than one for a long relationship.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Check the meeting is external (pre-meeting brief only)">
    Klipy skips the pre-meeting brief for meetings where every attendee is internal to your own organization, since there's no outside relationship history to brief you on.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Try Send me one now (daily brief only)">
    Use the "Send me one now" button on [app.klipy.ai/delegation/daily-brief](https://app.klipy.ai/delegation/daily-brief) to rule out a timing issue. If that arrives but your scheduled brief hasn't, the delegation itself is working and the issue is specific to the schedule.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## When to contact us

If a brief's delegation is enabled, your connected inbox is healthy, and (for the daily brief) your timezone and send time are correct, but you still never receive it, reach out through the **Get help** option in Klipy's Help menu. Mention which brief is missing and, for the daily brief, the time and timezone you have set, so the team can check the schedule history for your account.

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Where do I turn on my daily morning brief?">
    At [app.klipy.ai/delegation/daily-brief](https://app.klipy.ai/delegation/daily-brief). It's off by default, so Klipy won't send anything until you enable it there and confirm a connected email account.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="What time does the daily brief arrive?">
    Whatever time you set on [app.klipy.ai/delegation/daily-brief](https://app.klipy.ai/delegation/daily-brief). If you haven't changed it, that defaults to 8am on weekdays (Monday to Friday), based on your account's timezone.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Can I get a daily brief right now instead of waiting?">
    Yes. The "Send me one now" button on [app.klipy.ai/delegation/daily-brief](https://app.klipy.ai/delegation/daily-brief) sends an on-demand copy immediately, built from your current pipeline and follow-ups.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Does the pre-meeting brief have a schedule I can set?">
    No. Once you enable it at [app.klipy.ai/delegation/meeting-brief](https://app.klipy.ai/delegation/meeting-brief), Klipy fires it automatically about 30 minutes before each external meeting — there's no time picker, unlike the daily brief.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Will I get a pre-meeting brief for an internal-only meeting?">
    No. Klipy only sends the pre-meeting brief for meetings that include at least one attendee from outside your organization. Meetings with only your own colleagues are skipped.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why is my daily brief so short, or blank?">
    Klipy's daily brief summarizes pipeline changes and follow-ups due. On a day with no meaningful changes, the brief can be short or nearly empty — that reflects your pipeline that day, not a delivery problem.
